About the bar


The Jumping Jockey Bar is a stunning and beautifully renovated 1980’s Sinclair horsebox

Impress your guests and bring the wow factor to your event

Our horsebox has been lovingly refurbished to the highest standard, with a luxurious rustic feel.  Adorned in French grey, with bespoke copper panelling and fittings, live edge oak counters and shelving, vintage filament and LED lighting with a BOSE sound system to enhance the atmosphere.

We offer three separate serving bars, which can be customised to suit your event size, including the rear hatch which folds down into a deck to create a full pull out bar at the back.  Fitted with a state-of-the-art beer chiller system, triple fridge, running hot & cold water and our own power supply if required, we can literally set up anywhere.

Included in our hire fee, we supply:

  • Outdoor tables and chairs to create an area for your guests to perch, mingle and socialise
  • Festoon lighting & up-lights to create an enchanting backdrop around the bar as the light fades.
  • We are also able to offer a rustic wooden bar for hire, which dovetails perfectly with the horsebox should you also require an indoor bar, or if your venue doesn’t have the space to accommodate a horsebox.

Who are we


Based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, The Jumping Jockey Bar is the brainchild of my wife and I.  Bringing an unparalleled wealth of experience, I have spent my entire adult life employed in the events and hospitality industry.  From working in private service, managing bars, restaurants, and prestigious events venues, to organising and co-ordinating more than 300 weddings and running my own successful event management and catering business.

My wife Claire, whose professional background is now in healthcare, is no stranger to the hospitality industry.  From pulling pints in bars, fulfilling various roles contributing to the running of large public events whilst at university, to working several ski seasons in Austria as a travel representative post study.

With the growth of outdoor events and the popularity of unique pop up bars, the creation of the Jumping Jockey Bar is a business venture we can work on together to combine our flair and talents.

Bar hire options


Included in our booking fee we provide everything required for the perfect bar service.  We stock a diverse range of products from locally produced real ale, draft lagers, cider, wines & prosecco to premium spirits & mixers. We offer a choice of biodegradable cups or glassware if the venue permits, along with paper straws, garnishes, ice, a state of the art beer chiller, a triple bar fridge, an events licence if required and a minimum of two uniformed professional & friendly bar staff.

As standard, our set up includes outdoor tables & chairs to create an area for your guests to perch, mingle & socialise, with festoon lighting & up-lights, creating an enchanting backdrop around the bar as the light fades.

Cash bar


Our most popular option, which is hassle free and ideal for those of you who prefer a stress-free experience.  For a flat fee and a deposit for agreed minimum bar spend* you will have full use of our stunning horsebox bar. We will provide the staff, stock, ice, chiller fridges and disposable biodegradable cups & straws – glassware available for an additional fee and if your venue permits. Your guests can pay for their own individual drinks by cash or card.

Hire fee payable at time of booking to secure date

A minimum drinks spend will depend on guest numbers and if we are the sole bar provider.   As the client, you will pay this up front one week before the event and it will be refunded back pro rota after the event depending on how much your guests’ drink. For example, if the agreed minimum spend is £500.00 & your guests only purchase £450.00 worth of drinks, £450.00 will be refunded to you. However, if your guests spend £500.00, we will refund the entire £500.00 drinks deposit

Hosts bar


As a host you can treat your guests.  This could be in the form of a complimentary drink on arrival such as a glass of fizz or a special cocktail, a specified amount behind the bar or giving your guests drinks tokens to redeem. Once your prepaid amount has been used you can either top up or we will then revert to a cash bar whereby your guests will pay for their own drinks.

The Jumping Jockey Bar can be towed to any location and be set up to cater for a wide variety of events.   With no fixed template it allows you to be as creative as you like and together we will work with you to devise something completely bespoke.  For corporate events we can offer a complete branding takeover of the bar including the front face of the bar, side and rear hatches and event specific drinks lists.

Have you organised the catering for your event?  The Jumping Jockey Bar, alongside our sister company Amuse Bouche Events can help.   We can offer catering which would complement the rustic feel of the horsebox perfectly, such as a BBQ or a Spit Roast and dependent on your venue’s facilities are able to offer more formal options.

Our standard hire cost is £350.00 per day and is payable at the time of booking to secure your date.  If a minimum bar spend deposit is required, we request this payment is made at least one week before the event.

Our stunning horsebox bar for your chosen date and duration of your event. Ideally yes, we require access to power via a standard household plug. We have our own extension lead which allows us to operate up to 50m away. If we are unable to connect to your venues’ mains electricity on the day, we can operate via our own generator.

Setting up the Jumping Jockey Bar at your venue is quite straightforward  We require an area of level ground which is easily accessible for our horsebox to be positioned and ideally a space of 5m around the horsebox to allow us to set out seating for your guests & erect the festoon lights.  It takes us approx. 2-3 hours prior to your event to get everything ready to welcome your guests.   If possible, we would also visit the venue prior to your event to ensure we can set up as efficiently and we can liaise directly with your venue to arrange this.

We are based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire and cover the surrounding area of approximately 50 miles.  We are more than happy to travel further, which may incur a small additional cost.

Our staff are smartly dressed in black with branded grey aprons.

We serve our drinks in disposable biodegradable clear cups.  Glass hire can be provided for an additional cost and if the venue permits.

A Temporary Events Notice (TEN) is legally required to sell alcohol at a private event, we will liaise directly with your local authority to book this on your behalf.  The cost of the TEN is included within our booking fee.

We stock draft lager, real ale, a variety of bottled lager & cider, wine, prosecco, a wide range of standard and premium spirits & mixers and a selection of soft drinks and fruit juices.

This is very much product dependent, but we feel we offer value for money as our prices are what you would expect to pay in a local pub.  Draft pints are between £3.50-£4.50, bottled lager £3.50, Wine £4.50 a glass and £17.50 a bottle, prosecco £5.00 a glass or £18.00 per bottle, standard spirit & mixer £4.00, with premium spirit & mixer £6.00 Cocktails £6.50.

Yes, for an additional fee you can change our branding/colour schemes for your theme including signage, bespoke cups and even uniforms.  If you would like to customise the bar theme/menu such as a gin, cocktail or champagne specific bar or stock your favourite tipple we are more than happy to be flexible so please get in touch with your requirements.

Yes, we have public liability insurance and employers liability insurance.

We will happily provide a service for as long as you want us to however, it will be influenced by local licensing authorities and your venues restrictions.  Most venues have a cut off for alcohol being served so we will adhere to these requirements whilst ensuring your guests have the best time possible. We will discuss this with you and agree times prior to the event.

We are able to take debit & credit card payments as long as we have access to a good WiFi 3/4G connection. If not, it will be cash only.

We are taking bookings up to two years in advance, we recommend you book the Jumping Jockey Bar early in the planning of your event to avoid disappointment.

Yes, should you require our horsebox bar for more than one day we offer generous multi-day hire rates, please enquire for a detailed quotation.
